13th Lekhnath Festival kicks off

Recentfusion.com—Lekhnath: The 13th Regional Trade Fair and Lekhnath Festival- 2073 has kicked off at Talchok in the garden city of seven lakes on Thursday.

Minister for Industry Nabindra Raj Joshi has inaugurated the festival which is being organized by Lekhnath Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). Speaking in the formal ceremony, minister Joshi stressed on economic prosperity rather than political wrangling in Nepal.

According to festival coordinator and LCCI Chairman Laxmi Prasad Tripathi, all 300 stalls of the festival had already been booked; and varieties of goods and services are offered in the festival. Conservation of local culture, focus on local production, development and prosperity are some of the aims of the festival which lasts on Feb 19. Some 0.3 million visitors have been expected during the festival.

Exhibitions of local oranges, milk items, fishes, honey, coffee, honeybees, vegetables, chickens and bio-diversities would also be carried out during the festival. Poet conclave, Children Park, music concert, duet songs, educational activities, Ratauli competition and cultural show would also be included in the festival that would be opened from 10 am to 7 pm every day.

Former health minister Khaga Raj Adhikari, lawmaker Yagya Bahadur Thapa, FNCCI senior vice president Kishor Pradhan, FNCCI former president Anand Raj Mulmi, main sponsor Advance Group manager Dipak Ghimire, Pokhara Valley Urban Development Committee president Prakash Mohan Khanal and social worker Januka Parajuli delivered their remarks during the inaugural event.
