Pokhara 13 win ward level football tournamnet

Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: Ward number 13 outplayed Ward number 27 of Hemja 2-1 in Ward Level Football Tournament organized by Pokhara Sub-Metropolitan City (PSMC) Office in Pokhara Stadium today.

Ward 13 also bagged 75,000 rupees cash prize, while rival Ward 12 got 35,000 rupees. The extra time goal by Naba Raj Gurung remained decisive to make Ward 13 victorious.  20 minutes extra time was added as both the teams failed to break the deadlock of 1-1 goal in regulation of 40 minute times. Two early goals were scored by Sunil Gotame and Ashok Nepali of ward 13 and ward 27 respectively.

Ward 12 became the most disciplined team of tournament that was taken part by 24 ward level teams. Uttam Gurung of ward 13 won the title of best player of the tournament. Raju Gurung of ward 13 became best goalkeeper and Roshan Karki of ward 27 was declared best defender of the tournament.

Likewise, Naba Raj Gurung of ward 13 received the prize of best striker, while Pravin Thapa of ward 27 got the title of best midfielder. Samir Karki of ward 27 won the prize of highest (7 goals) scorer. All above mentioned players got 5,000 rupees each. ANFA Kaski vice president Milan Gurung was felicitated during the concluding ceremony for his contribution for the development of football sector.

Western Regional Administrator Khaga Raj Baral, PSMC CEO Naba Raj Dhungana and tournament coordinator and PSMC Office senior legal advisor Narayan Sharma distributed the prizes to runner up and other players in the ceremony.

The tournament was coordinated by District Sports Development Committee (DSDC) Kaski and managed by ANFA Kaski. According to DSDC office in-charge Prakash Baral, the tournament was organized after the gap of two decades in Pokhara.
