MMC thrash CMG Sankata 1-0 to enter final of Aaha Rara

By Rup Narayan Dahkal—Pokhara: Defending champion Manang Marshyangdi Club (MMC) advanced to the final of 15th Aaha Rara Gold Cup Football Tournament here in Pokhara Stadium today.

Thrashing CMG Club Sankata 1-0, MMC confirmed his date to hosts Sahara Club Pokhara (SCP) for coming Saturday. The solitary goal from Afeez Olawale Oladipo in 86th minute brought MMC to the final of the tournament. Olawale netted the header ball collecting from his colleague during a long free kick by Bikram Lama.

CMG reduced in 10 men as their player Sushil KC was shown red card following the double yellows by FIFA referee Bikash Mahat. The second yellow was shown as KC termed bad words during the match. KC was shown yellow cards in 59th and 63rd minutes of the match. Rohit Chand was given the prize of man of the match.

CMG came into pressure as they confined in 10 players who hardly created good chances for scoring after the red card. MMC players missed so many opportunities to convert into goals.

CMG coach Salyan Khadgi blamed referee for their defeat. ‘Referee presented himself bias against us,’ he added- he gave so many advantages to the MMC players. Likewise, MMC coach Chhiring Lopsang Gurung said the delay score was a reason that his mid field could not supply the ball to the strikers.
