Recentfusio.com—Pokhara: CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli Sunday accused the government of doing dilly daily in announcing the polling date. Addressing a national gathering and orientation program organized by his party’s Central Front in Pokhara, Chairman Oli stressed on the need of announcement of polling date at earliest to hold the three tiers of election within 10 months as per the constitutional provision.
“The government is not presenting any bill in house related to elections,” Oli added- sending the bill to house committee is the idea of delaying the poll.” According to him, the election related bills should be carried out from fast track to meet the deadline of the elections. Oli however claimed that the government can’t escape from announcing and holding the polls.
Chairman Oli further accused the Madhesh based political leaders of not doing the agitation of rights. According to him, they have carried the agendas of other. As Madhesh based parties urging for constitution amendment, Oli made clear that the bill tabled in house to amend the constitution could not go ahead as according to him, the bill is based on anti nationalism. He further added that the amendment bill wished to separate the Hills and Tarai to each other. “We could not let the government to pass the bill,” Oli said- we neither could let to carry out the voting in house as the bill intends to create two nationalities in a country.
Oli directed his party leaders and cadres to do preparation for elections and to go to the people to aware them about his party’s agendas to garner majority of seats. Oli retreated that his party is going to start a two week long Mechi-Kali campaign in Tarai after 43 days.
CPN-UML senior leader and former PM Madhav Kumar Nepal, CPN-UML Province IV coordinator Kiran Gurung, party’s youth wing Youva Sangh Nepal Chairman Rajiv Pahari, CPN-UML secretary Yogesh Bhattarai delivered their views during the inaugural program chaired by Central Front Chief Gokarna Bista. Around 400 leaders and cadres from 20 various fronts of UML are taking part in the three day long program.
