Hotel Association Pokhara elects new executive body

Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: Bikal Tulachan has been unanimously elected as a president of Western Regional Hotel Association (WRHA) Pokhara in Pokhara on Friday.

Tulachan, who is also a young entrepreneur and the owner of Fairmount Hotel Lakeside got 148 popular votes in the election that also elected the new executive body of WRHA Pokhara for two years of tenure.

Likesie, Laxman Subedi- Hotel Sakura was elected in first vice president while Bhekendra Kumar Shrestha- Solitary Lodge in 2nd vice president of the new committee. Ganesh Raj Pahari- Hotel Tropicana was given the responsibility of general secretary and Rajendra Dhakal- Hotel Glacier was chosen as secretary of WRHA Pokhara.

Parvati Pandey- Hotel Landmark and Naresh Bahadur Bhattarai- Mount Kailash Resort were elected as treasurer and joint-treasurer in new committee. All of the elected except Bhattarai were from the non star category of the hotels.

Earlier, Arjun Mainali- Shangri La Village Resort, Anil Shrestha- Fishtail Lodge, Deepak Shrestha- Mums Garden Resort, Baibhav Paudel- Hotel Barahi and Remeshwor Humagain- Hotel Pokhara Grande were unanimously elected as a member of the committee from star hotel category.

According to election committee coordinator Meharman Shrestha, 191 votes were casted to choose the required 6 qualified members from non-star category for vital executives in the committee. 9 votes were invalided. A total of 266 members are eligible to take part in the election.

As per the WRHA Pokhara statute, a total of 17- six members from star category, six from non star category, will be nominated 4 by new president and one immediate past president, members includes in the executive committee.  In his victory speech, newly elected president Tulachan said that he would take WRHA Pokhara to new height professionally.
