Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: Host Sahara Club Pokhara (SCP) with 4-0, advanced in quarter finals of 15th Aaha Rara Gold Cup Football Tournament that kicked off here in Pokhara Stadium today.
Martin scored two goals while Peter Segun and Richard Pun 1 each to defeat rival Far Western 11 Sporting Club (FWSC). Martin scored in 6th minute to lead Sahara to the victory. Pun scored second goal for SCP in 27th minute. Likewise, Peter Segun added another goal in 38 minute for SCP. The last goal was secured by man of the match Martin again in 82 minute of the match.
FWSC seemed in pressure as it faced early goal. The club also missed some half a dozen of chances to secure the goal. Referee Sudish Pandey whistled against offside goal in 30 min as FWSC captain Mani Ram Chaudhary’s shots touched the inside net.
SCP’s coach Kiran Shrestha said that the chances they used was the main reason behind their winning. Rival team manager Sushan Joshi thought themselves unlucky and the injury of their captain Chaudhary for their defeat.
A total of 12 teams are taking part in Nepal Government Chief Secretary Dr. Som Lal Subedi inaugurated tournament. The winner team will bag 0.5 million rupees while runner up 251,000 rupees in the final match day.
