Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: CMG Kathmandu outplayed Knight King Sano Gaucharan 3-2 in penalty shootout to lift the title of Bagar Bhaikhalak Veteran Football Tournament in Pokhara on Sunday.
Winner CMG bagged 75,000 rupees cash including running shield, medal, trophy and certificate. Likewise, Knight King received 50,000 rupees including medal, trophy and certificate.
Sanjiv Bhaidhya, Kalyan Khadgi and Chet Narayan Shrestha from CMG scored 1 each and Saroj Thapa and Nima Lama from Knight King scored 1 goal each but Manu Gautam’s attempt was checked by rival goalkeeper.
In regular match, Akash Gurung from Knight King scored first in first half but CMG player Bijay Gurung leveled the score 1-1 through penalty shootout in the last time of the final match held in Tundikhel Playground of Pokhara. Sanjit Kumar Baidhya from CMG declared man of the match. Nima Lama from Knight King was given the prize of best player of the tournament.
Chet Narayan Shrestha from CMG who scored total 4 goals got the prize of best scorer. Aadhibasi Veteran Club Kathmandu became the most disciplined team. Western Regional DIG Kamal Singh Bom, Bir Bahadur Gurung and organizer Bagar Bhaikhalak President Dil Bahadur Gurung distributed the prizes to winner teams and players during the concluding ceremony.
