URL Journalism Award established in Pokhara

Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: The United Reference Laboratory (URL) Pokhara has established a URL Journalism Award in Kaski on Thursday.

This award will be given to a journalist who remains active in the beat of health reporting especially within the Province number IV. The award with an amount of 15,000 rupees cash, copper letter and dosalla will be provided every year from upcoming year.

Addressing in a program as a chief guest, Sarubhakta, the Chancellor of Nepal Music and Drama Academy appreciated the contribution of URL in laboratory sector of Nepal. He also claimed that there is a close relationship between health and literature sector.

According to URL Managing Director Thakur Prasad Panta, more than 14,000 patients have been benefited from URL launched 27 free health camps. Informing that URL has served more than 60,000 patients from its lab, Panta added URL has been investing 25 percent of its total income in social service sector since its establishment.

Western Regional Health Director Dr. Taranath Paudel, URL director Sushil Thapa, senior physician Dr. Mukunda Prasad Acharya, Nepal Diabetes Society Kaski President Krishna Prasad Baral, former president of Thakali Sewa Samiti and social worker Narendra Lalchan expressed their welcome speech in the program chaired by URL director Dinesh Babu Khadka.
