National archery tournament kicks off in Pokhara

Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: Late Amarsingh Lalchan Memorial Archery Running Shield tournament kicked off in Pokhara on Friday.

Minister for Commerce Romi Gauchan Thakali inaugurated the 6 days long tournament which is being organized by Thakali Sewa Sadan. The tournament has been claimed as first ever event with biggest prize money towards archery in Nepal.

According to tournament coordinator Govinda Jwarchan, a total of 13 teams from Mustang, Myagdi, Kathmandu, Butwal including other districts have taken part in the tournament. The winner team will bag 76,000 rupees, the first runner up will get 35,000 rupees and 2nd runner up will have 18,000 rupees.

Likewise, special archery player and best archery player of the tournament would also be given 5,000 rupees each as cash prize, informed Rajendra Kumar Lalchan, president of Amarsingh-Primo Lalchan Memorial Foundation.
