Himalayan White Water Challenge kicks off in Upper Seti

By Rup Narayan Dhakal—Pokhara: Himalayan White water Challenge Nepal 2016 has kicked off in Upper Seti of touristy town Pokhara on Monday.

All total 60 participants from Nepal and abroad are taking part in three-day long kayaking challenge organized by Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies (NARA)- Western Region. According to NARA executive member Milan Tiwari, more 20 participants who were on the way to venue would also be included in the challenge tomorrow.

Participants from Nepal, US, UK, Spain, Japan including other nations would face Nepal Tourism Board promoted challenge that was inaugurated by NARA President Chandra Dahal. Participants engaged in Down River Race challenge in the first day today. The Boater Cross and Extreme Slalom would be the parts of challenge for tomorrow and day after tomorrow.

The challenge is being organized in the distance of 1 km down to the Mardi Dobhan of Pokhara- Kaski. The winners would bag cash, medal and certificates. In senior category, first, 2nd and third prize winner will bag Rs. 50,000, Rs. 30,000 and Rs.20, 000 respectively. And, in junior side, such prize would be Rs. 30,000, Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 20,000. In female category, Rs. 25,000, Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 15,000 would be given to first, second and third.
