Nepal lifts AFC Solidarity Cup beating Macau 1-0

Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: Nepal lifted the title of AFC Solidarity Cup beating Macau 1-0 in Malaysia today.

Midfielder Sujal Shrestha scored solitary goal from D box to give this victory to Nepal. The chance was created by Bharat Khawas and the ball kissed the net in 29th minute of the final match held at Sarawak Stadium in Kuching. With this win, Nepal has done hat trick in international championship in same calendar year. Earlier Nepal had won Bangabandhu Gold cup in Bangladesh and SAG Football in India.

In AFC Solidarity Cup today’s match, Nepal had created pressure against Macau from the beginning of the match. It was raining during the match and the ground was water logged however Nepal remained lucky against Macau. All total 7 teams participated in that Solidarity Cup. It is the first wining of Nepal after 62 years in AFC organized formal match.
