23 Maoists killed in Andhra-Odisha border

Recentfusion.com– 23 Maoists were killed in an exchange of fire with the Greyhounds of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha Police in Malkangiri forest area on the Andhra-Odisha border in the morning on Monday, a high level police official here claimed. Eight were women among the killed.

According to AP Police, two constables of Greyhounds, an elite anti-Maoist force, were wounded in the firing that happened during a routine combing operation being collectively carried out by police of both the states at Ramgurha in Malkangiri district of Odisha.

The wounded constables were taken for treatment to Visakhapatnam by a chopper, the police official added. One of them later succumbed to injuries.
