Recentfusion.com–Pokhara: Paddle Nepal A won the title of National Rafting Championship organized on the occasion of 37th World Tourism Day in Chitwan on Tuesday.
The team paddled the stipulated 5 km distance in 13 minute 45 seconds to become victorious in the championship organized by Nepal Rafting and Canyoning Association.
The winner team bagged Rs. 23,000 cash prize. Captained by Nim Bahadur Magar, the team members were Jivan Rana Magar, Sunil Gurung, Bharat Gurung and Lil Bahadur Gurung.
Likewise Paddle Nepal B won the second prize to bag Rs. 15,000. That team took 14 minute 22 seconds to surf the fixed distance. Himalayan River Guide Association garnered the third prize of Rs 10,000. Teams up to fifth position were prized during the ceremony.
All total 15 teams of 90 players took part in the championship that started from Fishling of Chitwan to Gorkha Beach Resort in Chung Khola. The assocation has been launching such championship for the development of rating in Trishuli, Bhote Koshi and Karnali Rivers every year.
Prizes were distributed by Nepali Congress center committee member and lawmaker Badri Pandey and association president Man Bahadur Neupane.
