Dobilla bridge in high risk of landslide

Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: Landslides triggered by torrential rainfall on Saturday night posed threat to a bridge above Phurse Khola in Dobilla of Pokhara. The bridge connects Pokhara Sub-metropolitan City to Bharatpokhari, Nirmal Pokhari and Syangja.

The heavy vehicles were banned from passing the bridge. Only taxi, ambulance and security vehicles have been left to cross the bridge. The landslides also left nine homes in high risk.

Locals relayed the information of incident to District Development Committee kaski and the Division Road Office. The Dobilla settlement is also in risky condition due to the landslides under the bridge on both shores of stream. The settlement is being crumbled by Phurse Khola and Seti River.

CPN-MC politburo member Raj Kaji Gurung ‘Karan’ and central committee member Ramji Baral including other leaders visited the settlement and bridge site. Karan assured the locals that his party would take initiation to curb the problem and to save the settlement including a bridge.

Sahara Club president Birbhadra Acharya, advisor Bikram Thakali, Dobilla Settlement Development Committee president Gautam Giri and social worker Ishwori Giri including mass of local people gathered during an informal meeting to save the bridge and settlement.
