Recentfusion.com—Pokhara: Sahara Sports Journalism Prize has been awarded to journalist MB Astha Magar today in Pokhara. Sahara Club Pokhara has awarded that prize to Magar during the 18th anniversary of the club.
Magar was given the award of Rs 15,555, appreciation letter and dosalla by Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) President Jivan Ram Shrestha and Sahara Club Pokhara President Bir Bhadra Acharya. Magar who is in journalism sector for more than 15 years was recommended for felicitation by a committee led by senior journalist Narayan Karki.
The club has been providing such award to sports journalist during its anniversary for 10 years. The Pokhara base sports journalist who has been working for five year is eligible for that prize. All total 10 journalists had received that prize previously.
Likewise, Sahara Club Pokhara felicitated club member Sunita Gurung and the six children of Sahara Academy run by Sahara Club. Addressing a program, NOC President Shrestha said that the Nepal’s sports sector suffering from the low investment from the state. He also sought long-run vision to develop the Nepali sports sector.
