At least 21 persons killed in Bangladesh fire

Recentfusion.com—Dhaka : At least 21 persons were killed as a boiler exploded in Bangladesh factory and triggered fire near Capital Dhaka on Saturday.

According to fire official Mohammed Rafiquzzaman, dozens other injured as five- story Tampaco Foils Ltd factory caught fire in the Tongi industrial area. Since the flammable chemicals were stocked inside the factory, the fire dispersed fast before hearing a big bang.

It has been claimed that some 50 people were injured during the disaster. Firefighters were struggling to exhaust the fire flame. The factory owner Sye d Mokbul Hossai told the Bengali-language Prothom Alo daily that he was not aware when the boiler was lastly inspected.

Security personnel said about 90 people were in the four-storey building at the time of incident. According to media report, at least 13 people were killed when fire broke out in a plastic industry in Dhaka Last year. Similarly, 112 workers were killed in a fire at a factory nearby capital.
