Recentfusion.com–Pokhara: The direct bus service between Nepal’s touristy town Pokhara and India’s New Delhi is to be started from tomorrow. The Nepal India friendly bus service is a part of understanding between Nepal and India last year.
Modern Era Tours and Travels Nepal and Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation had already clinched a agreement to run such service,informed METT president Keshav Prasad Adhikari. Four buses from each company will provide the service in Pokhara-Delhi route.
As per the understanding, the direct bus service will be run without any hurdle and customs duty in border point. Traveler should pay 3520 rupees bus fair to Delhi from Pokhara. The bus with 40 seats service runs through Syangja, Palpa, Butwal, Sunauli to Anand Vihar of Delhi from Pokhara. The bus leaves for Delhi from tourist bus park of Rastra Bank Chok at 9 am.
The bus will reach Delhi within 24 hours travelling 1300 km. Tourism entrepreneurs are hopeful that the number of Indian tourists especially religious visitors will rise in Pokhara following the direct bus service between two cities. Indian tourists prefer to go mostly to Muktinath and Damodar Kunda via Pokhara.
METT on its own has also been giving such direct bus service from Pokhara to Delhi for few years now. As per the agreement the direct bus service from Kathmandu to Delhi and Kathmandu to Banaras is in operation from few months.
