Nepal bandha cripples normal life

Pokhara: Normal life adversely crippled as Netra Bikram Chand Biplav lead CPN-Maoist launched a nationwide Nepal Bandh (strike) on Thursday. Demanding to control a black market and price hike, the party organized this protest program.

Most of the roads in tourist city Pokhara are looking deserted and all of the public vehicles are not plied on the road. Ambulances, vehicles of security personal and press vehicles could be seen on the road. The bandh started 5 am today and will last at 5 pm in the evening.

District Police Office Kaski arrested few protesters from the roads, who wished to stop the vehicular movement. According to Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the nation has to bear a loss of more than 200 crores due to bandh of a day. Protesters attacked a mangoes carrying truck by petrol bomb in Rautahat in the Morning today.

In Kathamandu, Nepal Police providing free of charge bus services to the public. Yesterday, Pokhara Tourism Council had urged not to organize such bandh program, publishing a press release.
