When the world power countries are adopting the anti terrorism campaign as their one of the major issues after September 11, same kind of terrorist attack has reiterated in India's commercial capital Mumbai that rocked the whole city for more than 60 hours.

Along with this tragic destiny, the issue of terrorism has boldly been raised in India and the high level government officials announced their resignation from their post following the incident. It is not only in India even Nepal also showed its concern over the likely terrorist attacks, stepping up the reported alertness in some of the country's landmark regions.

There is no doubt that the terrorism now has become the most challenging issue of south Asian countries. The recent Mumbai attack that termed as India's 9/11 by the Indian media compelled the South Asia to think about some of the effective anti terrorism measures for the peace as a precondition of the overall development of its countries.

There has been raised an important questions that why there have been occurring such incidents repeatedly in India; to some extent in other south Asian countries. Sometime the blame goes over detective agencies of respective countries and some time to the politicians. But if we go it thoroughly, the problem comes from the lack of cooperative mechanism among the countries and their respective security bodies.

It could be said that the Mumbai attack has raised the question over the role of SARC. What does SAACR do to retaliate with the terrorism? It should be honestly thought and took that the India, as a largest SAARC member, has been showing poor concern over the issues discussed and endorsed in SAARC summits. So, is it the aftermath of that ignorance? The answer might not get strong yes but the question carries relevancy and some reality.

Terrorism should not be discussed connection to the politics. When the security fault is occurred, generally the blame first goes to the government but it should be considered that the citizens should also be equally responsible for their own security against the terrorism. And, political leaders also should develop strong commitment and be responsible leaving the blame games.

Now an assumption that what would Nepal do if the incidents like in Mumbai and US twin towers occur in Nepal? Does Nepal have adequate capacity to tackle such incidents? Nepali Home Minister Bam Dev Gautam has claimed that Nepal is capable to battle against the terrorism. The most important part is National commitment and the country should practically be prepared against possible terrorist attacks not only in words.
